The team at The Berry Pharmacy are supporting R U OK? month and would love for you to join them. Pop into the pharmacy any Thursday in September to see Ross and Clare shed their white coats and don yellow clothes to support R U OK?
R U OK? is a not for profit organisation aimed at encouraging people to start a conversation with someone they feel may not be okay. A conversation can change a life, and sometimes all the encouragement a person needs to seek help, is to know that someone cares enough to simply ask “Are you okay?”
R U OK? is dedicated to reminding people to ask family, friends and colleagues the question, “Are you okay?” in a meaningful way, because connection, regularly and meaningfully, is one thing everyone can do to make a difference to anyone who might be struggling.
There are many reasons why R U OK? Day is important to the team at The Berry Pharmacy. Here are a few statistics that really made us to stop and think:
- About SEVEN people take their own lives EVERY DAY in Australia alone!
- 65,000 people attempt suicide each year
- Suicide is the biggest killer of Australians under the age of 44
- Men account for around 75% of all suicide deaths
Pop in to the pharmacy every Thursday in September for a chat and a cookie, and help us start conversations that may change a life. Who will you ask R U OK? this month?
